On Sunday, April 19, we will play for the Hawaiian Gardens Spring Carnival from 4pm to 5pm. This huge carnival takes place all weekend, with carnival rides, food booths and food trucks, entertainment all weekend, and plenty of activities for the whole family. The location is Fedde Sports Complex, 21301 Elaine Ave, Hawaiian Gardens 90716. Come Salsa dance with us. Free.

On Saturday, May 2, we will play for a worthy cause, the Gala Fundraiser for the House of Yahweh, from 12 noon to 3:30pm. The location for the event is the American Martyrs Catholic Church, 700 15th St, Manhattan Beach 90266. The House of Yahweh provides food, clothing, shelter, and other supportive services to the economically exploited and the impoverished, and helps guide them on the path to independence. On Sunday, May 5, come celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the Susie Hansen Latin Quartet at the Hotel Maya in Long Beach, from 5pm to 9pm. The address is 700 Queensway Dr, Long Beach CA 90802. Festivities are in the award-winning Fuego Restaurant. Call 562-481-3910 for more info and reservations. In addition to their full restaurant menu, there will be a variety of drink and food specials including traditional street-style tacos. We’ll perform great Salsa dance music with our quartet. No cover charge. Come celebrate, eat and dance with us. Their food is terrific. Reservations are recommended -- ask for a table near the band! Free.

On Friday, May 8, we will play for the Lakewood Pan American Fiesta from 7pm to 9pm. This fun event has lots of activities for everyone. The location is Mayfair Park, 5720 Clark Ave, Lakewood CA 90712. Come Salsa dance with us.  Bring a picnic if you like, and low-back chairs.  There will be food booths and food trucks, and carnival rides and games. Free.

On Saturday, May 16, we will play at the St Benedict Spring Festival in Montebello, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. The church address is 1022 W Cleveland Ave, 90640. There will be food, games, rides, raffles and more, fun for the whole family. Purchase half-price pre-sale carnival ride tickets at the rectory office before the festival weekend. Festival runs all weekend long, from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Dance with us at this fun-filled festival. Admission is free.

On Sunday, August 2, we will play for the Huntington Beach Conert Series from 5pm to 6:30pm. This free event is sponsored by the Huntington Beach Concert Band. The location is Huntington Beach Central Park, 7111 Talbert, Huntington Beach 96248. Bring out your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic blankets for this Huntington Beach tradition. Come dance to Salsa, Cumbia, Cha Cha Cha and Merengue. Free.

On Saturday, September 12, join us to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Barstow Performing Arts Center, from 7pm to 8:30pm. We'll play a Sunday matinee concert at this gorgeous 700-seat theater, and our show will be one of ten shows in their 2020-21 concert season. The address is 2700 Barstow Rd, Barstow CA 92311. On Sunday, July 26, we will play a virtual concert at the Rancho Los Cerritos in Long Beach, from 5:30pm to 7pm. We're back!!! We've missed all of you so much! We hope you will join us for a virtual concert this Sunday at Rancho Los Cerritos. We know that concerts and dancing are something you’ve been missing ever since the shutdown. So let's all get together and dance this Sunday at a virtual concert of the Susie Hansen Latin Band! The concert will be streamed on Facebook (@RanchoLosC) and on YouTube (@RanchoLosCerritos). Please join us! Put on your dancing shoes, like always! Maybe even have a picnic on your deck. We've missed everyone, so please tune in to our show on Sunday, and afterwards, please send us an email to let us know you were there with us! Free, of course.

On Monday, August 24, Pasadena Senior Center, we'll play a Zoom concert from 6pm to 7:30pm. We're excited to be doing another virtual concert. And this time, on the breaks, there will be live interviews of all the musicians in the band. We hope you will join us.

Before showtime, be sure to download the Zoom app on your computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Please note that this show will be available ONLY at 6pm to 7:30pm on Monday, August 24, 2020. It will NOT be archived for viewing on a later date, so we are inviting you to the only showing of our virtual concert at the Pasadena Senior Center.

You'll even be able to clap and cheer for the band after each of our three sets, and all the audience and the band members will be able hear you. We also hope you will be dancing with us at home, and if you turn your video on the other guests will be able to see you dancing! We miss seeing you at our live shows. Our concert at South Gate Park has been postponed, but it's going to happen on a new rescheduled date in October. We'll play from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, October 9. We are delighted that we're going to be able to play a live concert in South Gate's huge and gorgeous South Gate Park. The address is 9520 Hildreth Ave, South Gate CA 90280. On Sunday, October 18, join us for at the Long Beach Virtual 9th Annual Uptown Jazz Festival. We'll perform a 15 minute set between 3pm to 5:30pm.

This festival is sponsored by Long Beach District 9 Councilmember Rex Richardson. Themed “The Best of Uptown,” the 9th Annual Festival will highlight fan favorites from past Uptown Jazz Festivals. Festivities will be conducted virtually, and the production will also include appearances from several “Special Guests.”

On Saturday, November 7, 8pm to 10pm, tune into Canto Tropical on KPFK, 90.7FM, as DJ Hector "La Voz" Resendez features TWO FULL HOURS of the music of the Susie Hansen Latin Band.

Hector Resendez is the original creator of the highly acclaimed weekly radio show, Canto Tropical, which he hosts along with Kathy "La Rumbera" Diaz and Armando Nila.  This terrific show has been broadcasted on KPFK every Saturday since 1986 -- what a great long-running presentation of the terrific Latin music we all love!  "Salsa for Southern California -- Canto Tropical."

Join us this Saturday, November 7, 8pm to 10pm, as Hector plays two hours of the music of the Susie Hansen Latin Band.  He'll be featuring 22 songs from Susie's CDs, along with three or four virtual live interviews with Susie, too.  Listen live at KPFK, 90.7 FM, or stream the show live at KPFK.org.

- We can also play funk, disco, R&B, classic rock, Motown, swing (like Frank Sinatra), jazz, the Electric Slide in Spanish.
